The Rangers come into today’s game looking to extend their win streak to 6 games while Edmonton is looking for their third straight on a four game road trip which saw the beat both the Islanders 2-1 and the Devils 3-2, both in overtime. The last time the Rangers won 6 straight was last season from February 2nd to the 13th. New York has outscored opponents 22-14 during the winning streak and has scored at least four goals in six of its past seven games.

Henrik Lundqvist is expected to get his 6th straight start against former protege Cam Talbot. Lundqvist has 7 of the Rangers 8 wins has a GAA of 2.99 and a Save % of .903 while Talbot has picked up all of the Oilers 6 wins, has a GAA of 2.90 and a Save % of .912.

The Rangers will be looking for continued support from their top line of Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich. On the season Zibanejad has tallied 8 goals & 10 assists, Buchnevich 7 goals & 7 assists, Kreider has 5 goals and 3 assists and has been coming on lately especially on the power play.
