GEORGIEV GETS FIRST GARDEN WIN

A good team effort by the Rangers tonight as they beat the Carolina Hurricanes for the 15th time in a row on home ice. A night of firsts as rookie goaltender Alexandar Georgiev made 41 saves to earn his first victory on Garden Ice, PAvel Buchnevich tallied a career high 3 assists in one game and Jimmy Vesey picked up his first career Hat trick.

Mats Zuccarello tallied the games opener and added a third period goal to collect his 100th career goal. Vlad Namestnikov picked up his first Rangers power play goal and his second since coming over from Tampa Bay. Ryan Spooner also picked up his 10th assist since being obtained from Boston.

The win wasn't as easy as the score says as Carolina battled back at every opprotunity tying the game three different times until Jimmy Vesey ripped one short side in the third to put the Rangers up 4-3. Both Vesey and Zuccarello added empty net goals to end the game 6-3.
