Chris Kreider scored two third period goals to propel the Rangers to victory over the Carolina Hurricanes for the second time in 5 days.
In what looked like a lopsided game where Carolina held the Rangers to 3 shots on goal during the first period the Rangers once again pulled a proverbial "Rabbit Out of The Hat" to pick up the Win and 2 points.
Despite the 3 shots on goal during the first period the Rangers managed to come away leading 1-0 into the locker room for intermission on a goal by Derek Stepan.
In the second period both teams rallied in each other's zone for minutes on end with the Rangers spending the longest time, a total of 5:01 in the Canes end but could only muster one shot on goal. Carolina picked up the only goal of the second coming from Ex-Ranger Lee Stempniak, his 3rd in 2 games vs the Rangers ending the period tied 1-1.
In the third Period the Rangers retook the lead when Michael Grabner scored his 13th of the season only to lose the lead when Carolina scored the tying goal just 32 seconds later after a coach's challenge on the Rangers second goal. Six minutes later Chris Kreider put the Rangers ahead for good and added his second goal of the game with under three minutes remaining.
The Rangers Return to Action on Tuesday December 6 when they visit Cross Town Rivals the NY Islanders in Brooklyn. Game Time 7:00 PM.
