1928: The New York Rangers, playing their second season in the NHL, win the Stanley Cup with a 2-1 victory against the Montreal Maroons in the deciding game of the best-of-5 Final. Center Frank Boucher scores twice for the Rangers, who have to play all five games on the road because Madison Square Garden is not available. New York overcomes a 2-1 series deficit by winning Games 4 and 5 to become the second U.S.-based team (along with the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association) to win the Cup.

1933: The Rangers win their second Stanley Cup in franchise history, defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs, 1-0, in Game 4. Rangers captain Bill Cook scores 7:33 into overtime to win the game.

1940: The Rangers win their third Stanley Cup in franchise history, beating Toronto, 3-2, in Game 6. Bryan Hextall Sr. scores at 2:07 of overtime to give the New York Rangers a 3-2 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Maple Leaf Gardens and a six-game series victory in the Stanley Cup Final. It comes seven years to the day after Bill Cook's overtime goal gives the Rangers a 1-0 win at Toronto and a Cup-winning victory in Game 4 of what was then a best-of-5 Final. The 1940 Cup was the Rangers' third championship since entering the League in 1926; little did their fans know that the next one wouldn't arrive until 1994. The 54-year drought is still the longest in NHL history.

1990: NY Rangers beat NY Islanders 6-5, Rangers win Patrick Divison Semi-Finals, 4 games to 1.

1981: The Rangers score 10 goals in a playoff game for the first time in franchise history, defeating the Los Angeles Kings, 10-3, in Game 3 of the Preliminary Round at MSG.

1990: NY Rangers beat NY Islanders 6-1, Rangers lead 3-1 in the Division Semi-Finals.

2010: Henrik Lundqvist establishes a new franchise record for goaltender appearances in a season with 73.

2015: The Rangers establish single season records with 53 wins and 113 points surpassing 1994's 52 wins and 112 points.
