RANGERS MORNING SKATE NOTES 4/21
Injured defenseman Dan Girardi once again participated in the morning practice at Madison Square Garden but will not play in Game 4. Girardi who played in Game 1 is still listed as day to day with an undisclosed injury.
Viktor Stalberg who took a stick to the face by Kris Letang of Pittsburgh in Tuesday's loss spent the morning at the dentist but still participated in the morning skate. Stalberg who lost 3 teeth during the incident told reporters although Letang said he reached out to him to apologize said he did not. Stalberg said that's just part of playoff hockey and shook it off.
Coach Alain Vigneault said there is a possibility that there may be lineup changes both on the offensive lines and defense pairs tonight. He did state that Captain Ryan McDonagh is good to go and will play his 2nd game since returning from injury. Both Oscar Lindberg and Marek Hrivik are possibilities for replacements on the forward lines while Dylan McIlrath who skated in Game 2 and Raphael Diaz are options on the blueline for Vigneault. As usual any lineup changes will come at game time or be seen during the warm ups prior to puck drop.
The Rangers may have one slight advantage going into tonight, Penguins Mike Sullivan broke his usual silence and has announced that he will once again start Matthew Murray in net. Murray was a game time decision for Game 3 and the Rangers had already prepared to face goaltender Jeff Zatkoff which may have thrown them off their game plan.
Henrik Lundqvist as expected gets the start in net for the Rangers. Puck drop scheduled for 7:00 PM tonight at the Garden.
