RANGERS SEASON ENDS IN PITTSBURGH

The Rangers came out playing hard and striking first in the first period when Rick nash tipped in a Dan Girardi shot past Matt Murray 1:02 into the game. Even after Pittsburgh evened the game at 1 on a goal that former Ranger Carl Hagelin put past Henrik Lundqvist the Rangers came back and retook the lead when Dominic Moore scored just 45 seconds later. The Pens managed to tie the game 2-2 at 11:39 of the first by Phil Kessel. The wheels fell off in the second period for the Rangers with 4 unanswered goals by Pittsburgh but heading into the 3rd down by 4 the Rangers continued to fight back but came up short even though Chris Keider tipped in a Raphael Diaz shot just over 5 minutes into the final period. The Pens were able to hold off the Rangers for the remainder of the game ending the Rangers post season in 5 games.
