NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REPORT

Nash Leads Rangers Past Canes 3-2

In what looked to be "another one of those games" for the Rangers Rick Nash pulled a rabbit out of his hat and scored the game tying goal early in the 3rd period on an end to end rush backhand shot.

Trailing at the end of the first period 2-0 on gaols by former Ranger Viktor Stalberg, it looked as though the Rangers hopes of breaking it's 3 game losing streak and 4 home game skid were in trouble. But Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist shut the door and didn't allow any more pucks to pass. Along with Nash's Game tying goal Nick Holden picked up his 3rd of the season to start the Rangers scoring in the second period.

Following Nash, Jimmy Vesey picked up a power play goal and his 8th of the season to put away Carolina for good and seal the win 3-2 ending November on a high note.

The Rangers return to action on Thursday visiting the Buffalo Sabres 7:00 PM.

NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REPORT

Lundqvist holds off Flyers, Rangers Win 3-2

A spectaular goaltending performance by Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist stopped 40 of 42 shots on goal in which might have been his best performance of the season thwarting the Flyers every chance he was given. The only 2 shots that were able to beat him were deflections in close.

The Rangers goals were scored by Derek Stepan, his fourth of the season, Matt Puempel his first goal of the season in his NY Rangers debut and what turned out to be the game winner, Kevin Hayes tenth of the season.

Matt Puempel who the Rangers claimed off of waivers from Ottawa was a game day decision playing in place of Oscar Lindberg. It turned out to be a good move by Alain Vigneault to insert him into the lineup.

Kevin Hayes continues his comeback season and seems to be the most improved player in the league as games go by.

The Rangers return to action this Sunday taking on Derick Brassard and the Ottawa Senators.

NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REPORT

Rangers "Roasted" like Thanksgiving Turkeys by Pens 6-1

In what looked to be a great start for the Rangers when Rick Nash scored a power play goal just under five minutes into the first period turned into a massacre on the ice with six unanswered goals by Pittsburgh.

Just two days after defeating the defending Stanley Cup Champions in a game very similar to this one where the Rangers came back from a two goal deficit to score five of their own unanswered goals the Penguins returned the favor.

The Rangers looked very disorganized throughout the second and third periods after failing to score on back to back power plays. Pittsburgh took advantage of the failed attempts and turned the game around chasing starter Henrik Lundqvist, 4 goals on 17 shots, from the nets in favor of backup Antti Raanta who surrendered two goals of his own on 21 shots.

The Rangers couldn't respond in the third period only getting 6 shots on goal and their first shot with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.

Tonight is just one of those nights for the Rangers to put away, forget and regroup for Friday Afternoon's Game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
