A spectaular goaltending performance by Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist stopped 40 of 42 shots on goal in which might have been his best performance of the season thwarting the Flyers every chance he was given. The only 2 shots that were able to beat him were deflections in close.
The Rangers goals were scored by Derek Stepan, his fourth of the season, Matt Puempel his first goal of the season in his NY Rangers debut and what turned out to be the game winner, Kevin Hayes tenth of the season.
Matt Puempel who the Rangers claimed off of waivers from Ottawa was a game day decision playing in place of Oscar Lindberg. It turned out to be a good move by Alain Vigneault to insert him into the lineup.
Kevin Hayes continues his comeback season and seems to be the most improved player in the league as games go by.
The Rangers return to action this Sunday taking on Derick Brassard and the Ottawa Senators.
