Today in NYR History 12/14:
1934: The Rangers acquire Dave Kerr from the Montreal Maroons in exchange for cash considerations.
2006: It's Lundqvist vs. Lundqvist for the first time in the NHL when New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist plays against twin brother Joel Lundqvist of the Dallas Stars.
Henrik makes 43 saves in New York's 5-2 win at American Airlines Center; Joel plays 5:44 and does not have a shot on goal. It's the third twin vs. twin matchup in NHL history, the first since Ron Sutter and Rich Sutter play against each other on March 14, 1996.
