1932: The Rangers trade Wilf Starr to the NY Americans in exchange for cash considerations.
1949: The Rangers trade the signing rights to Bud Poile to the Boston Bruins in exchange for cash considerations.
1996: Mark Messier registered four points (two goals, two assists) and became the fifth player in NHL history to tally 1,500 career points as the Rangers defeated the Florida Panthers, 7-3, at MSG. Brian Leetch also recorded four assists in the contest.
