NYR TODAY THURS 5/5: NYR Grades, Alumni, TDINYRH

RNYRF's GRADING THE RANGERS 2015-2016

BRADY SKJEI Defenseman

The much anticipated rookie D-Man's jump to the NHL came during the 2015-2016 season in New York. Brought up as a fill in for injuries the former first round pick did impress in just 7 regular season games and during 5 games in the post season. We can easily see Skjei making the team for the 2016-2017 season and earning a spot in one of the bottom 6 pairings in what would be his first full season. A bright future awaits the 22 year old Skjei given the opportunity.
GRADE: Incomplete

MAREK HRIVIK Left Wing

A Hartford Wolf Pack mainstay, Hrivik was recalled a few times during the season to fill in for injuries and as one of many "Black Aces" practice squad during the first round of the playoffs. With only 5 games played he really didn't get to see much ice time on the 4th line, Hrivik tallied an assist and was a plus 3.

JAYSON MEGNA Center/Wing

Signed by the Rangers during the summer Megna saw most of his ice time playing for AHL Wolf Pack. Recalled by the Rangers as a fill in for injuries Megna showed some spark and impressed in the 6 games that he played registering a goal and an assist and was a plus 2.
GRADE: Incomplete

DANIEL PAILLE Left Wing

Signed as a free agent during the season by the Rangers to bolster a struggling 4th line, Paille didn't do much to impress or show his worth in penalty killing situations and was soon relegated to Hartford of the AHL after 12 games with the Rangers. Paille was a minus 2 with no points during his tenure.
GRADE: F

JARRET STOLL Center

Signed as a free agent during the summer Stoll was given a shot at redeeming himself in the NHL as a Ranger. Playing primarily on the 4th line as a center he only played 29 games for the Rangers totaling a goal and 2 assists along with a plus 3 rating before being placed on waivers and claimed by Minnesota.
GRADE: F

EMERSON ETEM Right Wing

Traded to the Rangers during the summer for fan favorite Carl Hagelin, Etem came to New York with huge question marks on his ability to be an NHL Player. Not finding his game within Vigneault's system in New York he was traded to Vancouver after just 19 games in a Blueshirt. During his tenure Etem tallied only 3 assists and was a minus 4.
GRADE: F
