RNYRF's GRADING THE RANGERS 2015-2016
MATS ZUCCARELLO Right Wing
In our opinion, the "comeback" of the year. After suffering a fractured skull and brain swelling in the 2014-2015 playoffs at the hands of a Ryan McDonagh slap shot Zuccarello's career was up in the air. All speculation was thrown out the window when Zuccarello stepped on the ice and had one of his best seasons during the 2015-2016 campaign. "The Heart of the Rangers" played in all but 1 game of the season becoming the first Norwegian born NHLer to score 25+ goals during the regular season. Zuccarello tallied 26 goals and 35 assists for 61 points and was a plus 2 on the season. He surpassed his best career numbers which came in 2013-2014 when he put up 19 goals & 40 assists for 59 points. Definitely a career year for Zuccarello who at many times was the best Ranger during the season. And to top it all off Zuccarello is one of three finalists for the Annual Bill Masterton Trophy this year.
