2007: The Rangers re-sign Henrik Lundqvist. 
After back-to-back 30-plus win seasons, the Rangers locked up their franchise goaltender to a new contract after he wins 30 and 37 games in his first two NHL seasons. Lundqvist goes on to win at least 30 games in each of the next nine full NHL seasons and wins the Vezina Trophy in 2012 after going 39-18-5 with a 1.97 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. He's remained in New York ever since.


2017: Lindy Ruff Joins Rangers Staff
The Rangers officially announce that Lindy Ruff joined Alain Vigneault's coaching staff as an assistant coach replacing Jeff Beukeboom who was transitioned into another role within the organization.

Before joining the Rangers, Ruff had been a head coach in the NHL for 19 seasons and has a .561 career winning percentage.

As an NHL player, Ruff played parts of three seasons with the Rangers (1988-89 - 1990-91) after he was acquired from Buffalo on March 7, 1989, he recorded 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 83 career contests with the Blueshirts.
