NYR ICYM:

The New York Rangers traded defenseman Keith Yandle to the Florida Panthers. The Rangers will receive a sixth-round pick and would also receive a conditional fourth-round pick in 2017 if he signs with the Panthers.

The Rangers are not expected to pursue St Louis defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk in a trade this off season. Speculation is Shattenkirk will be moved via a trade but the Rangers getting in on the bidding war is  "extremely unlikely".

The Rangers chances in signing highly touted Harvard forward and pending UFA Jimmy Vesey are over as Nashville has traded his rights to Buffalo for a third round pick in this year's draft.

The Rangers will open up their home schedule for the 2016-17 season on 10/13 against the Islanders.
They will also play against Carolina in their home opener on 10/28. This is the first time since 1997-98 that the Rangers are opening up against the Islanders.

RANGERS NOTES
@RNYRF Staff Report
RANGERS HOPEFUL THEY CAN SIGN BUCHNEVICH FOR TRAINING CAMP
Jeff Gorton believes the Rangers can get a deal done to bring prospect Pavel Buchnevich to the 2016-2017 training camp. Reports are that the Rangers are trying to bring him over in the next few weeks to start acclimating him to "North American" Style play. Buchnevich who reportedly suffered some type of wrist injury had 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points and a minus 6 in 58 games split between Cherepovets Severstal and St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL. In 14 playoff games with St Petersburg before the wrist injury he had a goal and two assists.
Buchnevich was the Rangers 3rd round pick, #75 overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and is touted as one of their top elite prospects and is in his 4th year in the KHL.
