@RNYRF Staff Report
RANGERS HOPEFUL THEY CAN SIGN BUCHNEVICH FOR TRAINING CAMP
Jeff Gorton believes the Rangers can get a deal done to bring prospect Pavel Buchnevich to the 2016-2017 training camp. Reports are that the Rangers are trying to bring him over in the next few weeks to start acclimating him to "North American" Style play. Buchnevich who reportedly suffered some type of wrist injury had 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points and a minus 6 in 58 games split between Cherepovets Severstal and St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL. In 14 playoff games with St Petersburg before the wrist injury he had a goal and two assists.
Buchnevich was the Rangers 3rd round pick, #75 overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and is touted as one of their top elite prospects and is in his 4th year in the KHL.
