RANGERS FALL TO ISLES 5-2 9/22

SHATTENKIRK, ZUCCARELLO REGISTER ASSISTS IN PRESEASON DEBUT

It's hard to take away positives after a loss no matter how large or small that loss comes but there were a few in the game that the Rangers dropped to the Islanders last night in Bridgeport.

Take rookie Filip Chytil. he showed signs of a player that can take and turn a game around if a brief moment. Although he was a -2 on the night he registered 3 shots in the third period, if it wern't for Isles goaltender Thomas Greiss the end result may have been different.

Ryan Spooner returned to the lineup and recorded a power play goal, his 2nd in 2 games played and Cody McLeod recorded the game's first goal on a deflection in front off a shot by Peter Holland.

Shattenkirk registered 2 assists and had 3 shots, Zuccarello tailed an assist, 1 Shot and was a plus 1, Lias Andersson was a plus 2 with 2 shots, Spooner with a goal and 4 shots, McLeod a goal, a plus 1, 1 shot and 7 penalty minutes including a 5 minute fighting major.

Alexandar Georgiev and Dustin Tokarski split the game in net once again while the Rangers look for their backup to Henrik Lundqvist. Georgiev who started the game stopped 17 of 20 shots allowing three goals while Tokarski who finished the game stopped 10 of 12 shots, allowing 2 goals.
