TRAVERSE CITY UPDATE: Rangers Blanked by Red Wings 5-0, Face Blues for 7th Place
RANGERS BLANKED BY RED WINGS
The Rangers prospects picked up their second loss yesterday at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament 5-0 to the Detroit Red Wings
Starting for the Rangers were the lines of: Drew Melanson, Filip Chytil, Ville Meskanen - Gabriel Fontaine, Lias Andersson, Michael Lindqvist - Dawson Leedahl, Brett Howden, Ty Ronning - Kyle Potts, Tim Gettinger, Reese Johnson with the defensive pairings of Brandon Crawley, Libor Hajek - Ryan Lindgren, Joey Keane - Nico Gross, Derek Pratt.
Jeremy Brodeur made his second straight start of the Tourney.
Brett Howden was minus 2 for the game with a roughing minor and a fighting major, Lindqvist: 2 shots and an elbowing penalty, Hajek: minus 2, 1 shot & a slashing penalty, Lindgren: 2 shots & high sticking penalty. Ronning: minus 1, 3 shots, Meskanen: 2 shots, Andersson: minus 1 & high sticking penalty, Chytil: minus 2, 1 shot, tripping penalty & served a too many men on ice minor.
The 1-2 New York Rangers Prospects will face the 0-3 St Louis Blues Prospects for 7th Place in the Tourney today at 3:00 PM. Both teams finished last in their divisions, New York in the Ted Lindsay & St Louis in the Gordie Howe.
