NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REVIEW: RANGERS AT MONTREAL 1/14

62 Seconds dooms Rangers, lose in Montreal 5-4

3 Goals in 62 seconds is all it took for the Rangers to lose to the Canadiens tonight in Montreal. Despite leading twice going into the second 1-0 and third period 3-2 the Rangers lost their opportunity to gain 2 much needed points in the standings.

Antti Raanta who started the game did not return for the second period due to a "lower body" injury resulting from a collision in front of the Rangers net with Habs' David Shaw. Henrik Lundqvist replaced Raanta to start the second period and was charged with all 5 Montreal goals. The first of which came on the first shot he faced.

The Rangers did get some things going their way when what looked to be a Montreal goal was overturned in the first and Rick Nash's goal in the second period was upheld. The Rangers finally cashed in on the power play on the first goal of the game when Brandon Pirri scored just 4 seconds into the man advantage.

Playing Center tonight J.T. Miller picked up his league leading third short handed gaol of the season, Miller is also tied for the lead in short handed points with three. Derek Stepan rounded out the Rangers scoring on a deflection that first looked to be a high stick but was ruled otherwise.

The Rangers are off until Tuesday when they host the Dallas Stars at MSG.
