SHAKEUP IN HARTFORD

Rangers GM Jeff Gorton announced today that Chris Drury has replaced SVP and Assistant GM Jim Shoenfeld as the GM of Rangers AHL Affiliate the Harford Wolf Pack.

Shoenfeld, GM with Hartford for the past 14 years will remain with the team and will focus only on his duties with the Rangers.

Drury was the Rangers Director of Player Development until this season when he was promoted to Rangers Assistant GM under Glen Sather.

The Rangers have also announced that Pack Head Coach Ken Gernander has been relieved of his duties.

After 10 years as Pack Head Coach, Gernander posted a record of 388-304-84and had led the team to two 40 plus win season before this years disappointing 24-46-6. Gernander guided the team to the playoffs in 5 out of those 10 seasons.

Gernander spent 12 years altogether with the Pack as a player, Assistant Coach and Head Coach.

RANGERS AT IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Henrik Lundqvist picked up his second win as Sweden defeated Slovakia 4-2. Lundqvist stopped 13 of 15 shots on goal in the contest.

Oscar Lindberg had 1 shot on goal, was a plus 1 and played 15:05 of total ice time.

Kevin Hayes scored two goals in USA's5-3 Victory over Russia today. Hayes was 2 for 6 on faceoffs, was a plus 1,had 3 shots on goal and played a total of 18:36.

Brady Skjei played a total of 15:13 and was on the ice for a goal for and a goal against.
