Rangers signed goaltender Ondrej Pavelec for one year at $1.3 million.
Pavelec, 29, just finished a five-year contract with Winnipeg that had a cap hit of $3.9 million.
Pavelec was sent to the AHL last season where he was 8-7-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .917. save percentage.
In 362 career starts, Pavelec is 152-158-47 with a 2.87 GAA and .907 save percentage.

The Rangers signed AHL forwards Paul Carey and Cole Schneider.
