GAME DAYPREVIEW

Stoll could make Wild debut against Rangers

RANGERS (19-9-4) at WILD (16-7-6)
TV: MSG, FS-N, FS-WI
Season series: The New York Rangers defeated the Minnesota Wild twice last season, including a 3-2 win at Xcel Energy Center on April 2. Rick Nash had two goals and Derick Brassard had a goal and four points for New York. Jason Pominville had two goals and Justin Fontaine had three assists to lead Minnesota.
Rangers team scope: Derek Stepan (ribs) and defenseman Kevin Klein (oblique) practiced Wednesday but remain out. Coach Alain Vigneault said each could return against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. Forward Chris Kreider was not on the ice Wednesday, but Vigneault said it was a maintenance day and he will play. Defenseman Dan Girardi (knee) did not travel and will not play this game or Friday.
Wild team scope: Center Jarret Stoll, claimed off waivers from New York on Tuesday, practiced and could make his Minnesota debut. Stoll had a goal and two assists in 29 games with the Rangers and is expected to fill a fourth-line, defensive role for the Wild. "It's funny how the hockey world works and the scheduling works and the timing," Stoll said. "I just want to get in a game and get going with the new team here. It'll be a little weird ... two days ago practicing with them and now playing against them. It'll be a little different. But we still have to play the game." Goaltender Devan Dubnyk will return after missing four games with a groin injury sustained Dec. 5. Dubnyk was 3-2-0 with a .953 save percentage in six games before the injury.
