New York Rangers Training Camp 2016 Notes: Lindberg, McIlrath, Neives

Forward Oscar Lindberg who underwent hip surgery in the off season was cleared to participate in full contact drills yesterday by doctors. Lindberg is said to be still 2-4 weeks at the earliest to make a return.

Rumors from Larry Brooks of the New York Post are that with Brady Skjei being the only defenseman that doesn't have to clear waivers to be demoted to Hartford the Rangers might be moving defenseman Dylan McIlrath. With Skjei, McIlrath and off season signing Adam Clendening vying for the sixth and seventh blue line spots it may seem that McIlrath who has had a strong preseason might be heading elsewhere to make room.
Coach Alain Vigneault spoke about McIlrath after yesterdays practice stating: "Dylan, I thought played well during training camp. The games that he was asked to play, played to his strengths, he is trying to get better every day with and without the puck. He's given it his best, he is working extremely hard, very professional and works really hard in the gym and is trying to put his best foot forward and we need to decide where that is on our team."

The feeling among many is that Cristivol "Boo" Neives might be making a return to the Rangers some time this season after being demoted to Hartford last Friday. Neives only played one preseason game for the Rangers due to injury suffered at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament in September but impressed the coaching staff. Neives played two weekend games for Hartford and was said to be the Wolf Pack's best player.

Kevin Klein did not participate in drills yesterday at Camp. Rick Nash and Jesper Fast returned to practice yesterday after missing Saturday for a maintenance day.
