Rangers Recall Megna From Hartford


New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Jayson Megna from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Megna, 25, has skated in 34 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points, along with 12 penalty minutes. He leads Hartford in shots on goal (110), ranks second in points, is tied for third in assists, and is tied for fourth in goals in 2015-16. Megna has tallied a point in 15 games this season, including ten of the last 21 games (five goals, eight assists over the span). In addition, Megna has recorded six points (two goals, four assists) in the last 12 games.

The 6-1, 195-pounder was also recalled by the Rangers on Nov. 30, 2015. Megna has skated in 48 career NHL games over parts of two seasons, all with Pittsburgh, registering five goals and five assists for ten points, along with 20 penalty minutes. Last season, Megna registered one assist in 12 games with the Penguins.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native was signed by the Rangers as a free agent on July 1, 2015.
