Lundqvist Shines as Rangers Crown Kings 3-2

The Rangers once again figured out how to pull a victory out of thin air tonight at MSG. Henrik Lundqvist shined in net tonight stopping 36 of 38 shots on goal while his teammates only managed 17 shots against Los Angeles. The only difference? Three of those Shots made it past King's goaltender Andre Zatkoff.

The Rangers scored their first goal of the game taking a 1-0 lead when Brandon Pirri scored on only the Rangers second shot of the game almost 12 minutes into the opening period taking the Rangers to intermission with the lead.

Matt Puempel who made his return tonight after a lengthy IR Stint for a concussion opening the second period scoring when he cashed in just under 7 minutes in. The Kings were able to slide one past Henrik Lundqvist but the Rangers took a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

Mats Zuccarello cashed in on a feed from J.T. Miller in the third period to score what would be the game winning goal putting the Rangers up 3-1. Los Angeles added a goal with 1.6 remaining in regulation ending the game in favor of the home team Blueshirts 3-2.

The Rangers have one game remaining before the All Star Break, Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
