1929: The Rangers trade Archie Briden to the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash considerations.


1952: The Rangers trade the rights to sign Frank Eddolls to the Montreal Canadiens for cash considerations.


1962: The Rangers acquire Noel Price from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Pete Goegan.


1976: The Rangers play in Colorado for the first time and defeat the Rockies, 5-3. Rod Gilbert ties a franchise record with five assists.


1976: The Rangers acquire the 1978 4th round pick (#59-Dave Silk) from The Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Dunc Wilson.


1982: The Rangers play in New Jersey for the first time.


1987: The Rangers acquire Paul Boutilier and Jari Gronstrand from the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Jay Caufield.


2005: Henrik Lundqvist makes his NHL debut.
He records 24 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss against the New Jersey Devils.


2017: Henrik Lundqvist makes 34 saves and the New York Rangers defeat the Montreal Canadiens 2-0 at Madison Square Garden. 
Lundqvist makes an unexpected start one night after allowing five goals in the first period before being pulled in an 8-5 road loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The shutout is the 62nd of his NHL career, moving him past Broda into 16th place on the all-time list.
