Questionable Call Once Again Cost Rangers in 2-1 Loss

With Vladislav Namestnikov in the box for a 2 minute holding penalty agisnt Kailer Yamamoto, clearly to all but the officials, a penalty that was due to Yamamoto as he tied up the legs of Namestnikov heading into the Rangers zone. The Oilers were able to take advantage and Connor McDavid put the visitors up 2-1, a lead that would hold until the final buzzer.

The "call" would taint what was a back and forth goaltending battle between Henrik Lundqvist and former protege Cam Talbot. After exchanging first period goals, the Rangers from Mika Zibanejad and the Oilers off the stick of Ryan Nugent Hopkins. Both netminders would go on

to have 20 plus saves on the night, Lundqvist (25) & Talbot (23) were spectacular at times showing why they were one of the league's most formidable duos just a short few years ago.

Talbot would go on to hold the 2-1 lead and picking up his first win of the season for Edmonton along with his first win since being tarded to the Oilers from New York.
