RANGERS AT WORLD CUP NOTES


Wednesday Night in an exhibition game for the World Cup, team North America defeated Team Europe 4-0.
For team Europe, Mats Zuccarello played 20 minutes, had one shot on goal, one shot attempt blocked and 1 hit.
Zuccarello skated mostly with Anze Kopitar and Mikkel Boedker and played 18:17 at even strength, 1:43 on the PP and 5:28 in the first period, 7:00 in the second period and 7:32 in the third period.
He also drew a roughing penalty from Aaron Ekblad.


JT Miller, playing for Team North America, played 10:21, had one shot attempt blocked, one shot that missed the net, 2 hits and 3 blocked shots.
Miller played on the 4th line with Sean Couturier and Vincent Trocheck and saw 9:51 at even strength, 30 seconds on the PK, 3:58 in the first period, 3:39 in the second period and 2:44 in the third period.
In his first shift of the third period Miller blocked a shot from Mark Streit and went to the bench to get treatment but returned and finished the game He returned to the ice 5-6 minutes later missing only a couple of shifts the rest of the game. Later in the period he also blocked a shot from Zdeno Chara and then skated down the ice and missed the net with a shot. Miller skated as a spare forward Thursday at North America practice.

Derek Stepan with a goal and an assist in Team USA's 4-2 Victory over Team Canada in World Cup Pretournament Action on Friday. He had 2 shots on goal, 1 shot attempt blocked, 1 that missed the net, 1 giveaway, 3 takeaways and was 7 and 2 on faceoffs.
Stepan  played 14:04 at even strength, 52 seconds on the PP, 59 seconds on the PK, 5:07 in the first, 5:34 in the second and 5:14 in the third.

Ryan McDonagh played 18:03, had one giveaway and 3 blocked shots.
McDonagh played 15:53 at even strength, 2:10 on the PK and 6:09 in the first period, 6:10 in the second period and 5:44 in the third.

Henrik Lundqvist played the entire game in win against Finland stopping 11 of the 14 shots that he faced in Sweden's 6-3 win over Finland today. Lundqvist was beaten twice in the second period and once in the third and stopped 6 of 8 shots at even strength and 5 of 6 on the PP.
