Rangers at Traverse City Prospects Tournament Notes


The Rangers Prospects lost on Tuesday evening to the Columbus Blue Jackets Prospects 6-4 to finish at Traverse City in fourth place.
Yesterday's Rangers goals were scored by 2016 3rd round draft choice Sean Day with 2 and highly touted winger Jimmy Vesey with 2 power play goals for the Blueshirts. Vesey finished the tournament with 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points.
Goaltender Brandon Halverson had another rough outing allowing six goals on eighteen shots.

Rangers at World Cup of Hockey Notes


Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 36 shots in Sweden's 2-0 shutout win over Finland. Lundqvist stopped 11 shots in the first, 12 in the second and 13 in the third.
It was Lundqvist's 5th career best on best shutout.

Ryan McDonagh had a goal, one shot on goal, one shot attempt blocked and one that missed the net in Team USA's loss to Canada on Tuesday. McDonagh had 2 hits, 1 giveaway, 3 takeaways and 2 hits in 20:37.
McDonagh played 18:06 at even strength, 5 seconds on the PP, 2:26 on the PK, 7:42 in the first, 6:53 in the second and 6:02 in the third. Canada's fourth goal went off of McDonagh and into the net.
