Today in NYR History September 7, 1962: 

Muzz Patrick begins his second stint as Rangers head coach.
Murray Patrick, who was raised in the Legendary Patrick Family of professional hockey players and builders in the middle decades of the century and became a player, coach and general manager of the Rangers.
In his second stint as coach, Patrick returned to coach the team at the start of the 1962 season, until he hired Red Sullivan to take over. Then he went back to the front office until his retirement in 1973.

Team USA

Coach John Tortorella has both Derek Stepan and Ryan McDonagh being used on the power play on a unit with John Carlson, Max Pacioretty and TJ Oshie.
Stepan was skating on a line with Zach Parise and TJ Oshie. McDonagh was again paired with Capitals defenseman John Carlson.

Team North America

 JT Miller was again rotating on a fourth line for Team North America.

Team Europe

Mats Zuccarello was expected to be at Team Europe's practice yesterday after helping Norway qualify for the 2018 Olympics on Sunday.

REMEMBERING LOCOMOTIV YAROSLAVL


RNYRF Remembers New York Rangers Alumni Alexander Karpovtsev, Karel Rachunek, Rangers 2003 draft pick Jan Marek, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Hockey Team and the flight crew of Yak-Service Flight 9633 on this the 5th Anniversary of the Plane Crash that took the lives of 8 crew members and 37 passengers. The only survivors were Lokomotiv player Alexander Galimov and crew member Alexander Sizov.
Along with "Potsy", Marek and Rachunek, We Remember today those that perished in the crash. May They Rest in Peace
