NYR TODAY Wednesday 12/7: Nash, Puempel Updates, Alumni Birthdays, Today in Rangers History

Rangers Injury Updates:



Rick Nash tweaked his groin last night in the loss to the Islanders and did not return to the game. Nash is said to be "day to day".

Matt Puempel who took a crosscheck to the fave in last night's game was diagnosed with a concussion. Puempel never returned to the game after taking the hit from Islanders' Brock Nelson.

Rookie Pavel Buchevich has resumed skating on his own but no timetable has been set for his return.

Rangers expect team leading goal scorer Michael Grabner to return to the lineup for Thursday's game in Winnipeg. Grabner is in Austria mourning the loss of his Grandmother.

1926: In the first meeting between the Rangers and Boston Bruins, the Blueshirts win, 1-0, in Boston.



1941: On Pearl Harbor Day, the Rangers defeat the Boston Bruins, 5-4, at MSG. 



1979: The Rangers travel to Hartford for the first time, and defeat the Whalers, 7-4. The victory is the Rangers’ first against the Whalers/Hurricanes franchise.
