Zuccarello Leads Rangers Past Canadiens 3-1

The New York Rangers are moving on to the Eastern Conference Semi Finals! 

Mats Zuccarello's 2 goal performance sealed the fate of the Montreal Canadiens and gave the Rangers the Win and "Zucc" the first star of the game.

Falling behind in the first period 1-0 on a Montreal goal by Alexei Emelin the Rangers mounted a three unanswered goal effort. Zuccarello's two coming at 2:26 and !3:31 of the second period.

A sub par first period by the Rangers was followed by 40 minutes of stellar hockey by the Blueshirts gaining the lead and holding on to best the Canadiens in six games.

Derek Stepan added the Rangers third goal with seconds left on the clock into the empty Montreal net to seal the win.

Another outstanding game in net for Henrik Lundqvist as he backstopped the Rangers with 27 saves on the night besting Carey Price in the series that was a true goaltending battle.

The Rangers will face the Winner of the Boston Bruins vs Ottawa Senators Series. Boston trails Ottawa 3-1 with game 6 coming tomorrow.
