Today in Rangers History 10/27:


1931: The Rangers trade Gene Carrigan to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for cash considerations.


1988: The Rangers acquire Ron Shudra from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Jeff Crossman.


1996: Wayne Gretzky extends his point streak to 11 games.
He scores a goal and adds three assists as the Rangers defeat the Buffalo Sabres, 6-4, at MSG.


2014: The Rangers score five goals in the third period to overcome a 3-0 deficit and defeat the Minnesota Wild 5-4 at Madison Square Garden. 
It's only the second time in team history that the Rangers win a game trailing by three goals after being shut out entering the third period.
