NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REPORT: RANGERS @ ISLANDERS 2/16

Rangers fall to Isles 4-2

In what looked to be the Rangers once again on a roll the Rangers came away from the first period ahead 1-0 on a goal by Nick Holden when Holden fresh out of the penalty box took the pass from mats Zuccarello and buried one past Isles goaltender Tomas Greiss.

The rest of the game was a different story as the Rangers gave up unanswered goals in the second period and one more in the third on a short hand for the Islanders until Jimmy Vesey picked up the Rangers second goal with seconds left on the power play. The Isles added an empty net goal late in the period to win the game 4-2.

The Rangers who were already without defenseman Kevin Klein due to flu looked as though they were not ready to show up for tonight's contest. Mats Zuccarello and Jimmy Vesey looked to be the only players who came to play.

The Rangers return to action on Sunday hosting the Washington Capitals in a 12:30 pm start.
