The Rangers started off their four game home stand this afternoon with a hard fought 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames. The Rangers have now swept their two game season series against Calgary having won 4-1 in their previous meeting in November.
Fueled by goals from Rick Nash on the power play, Michael Grabner with his team leading 23rd, Chris Kreider and Jesper Fast's Game Winner in the third period the Rangers were able to stave off a young Flames team.
Derek Stepan picked up his 27th assist and leads the team with 19 of those assists at even strength. Stepan also tied the lead in points at 39 with Mats Zuccarello.
Henrik Lundqvist picked up his 23rd win of the season in a 29 save performance and is not 5-1 versus Calagry in his last 6 games dating back to October 20, 2011.
Rangers' Captain Ryan McDonagh tallied his 200th career NHL point today with an assist on Rick Nash's power play goal in the first period. Mac leads the team in assists with 29 on the season.
Today's win gave Alain Vigneault his 599th career win as an NHL head coach.
The Rangers return to action on Tuesday hosting the Anaheim Ducks at MSG.
