NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME WRAP UP: RANGERS vs BLUE JACKETS 2/26

Rangers downed by Columbus 5-2

Although the Rangers played hard for most of the first and second periods they could not last against the Blue Jackets at home for the second time this season. The Rangers defense looked lost for most of the game leaving Columbus in front of Henrik Lundqvist with scrambling. The Jackets also had three breakaway chances, one leading to a penalty shot which Lundqvist was able to stop and one other that made it past on the glove side.

Rick Nash and Jesper Fast were the only Rangers to cash in tonight. Nash's coming in the first period and fast's coming with :00.3 remaining in regulation.

Rangers special teams were 1-2 on the penalty kill and 0-2 on the power play. Lundvist stopped 21 of 26 shots on net.

The Rangers continue their 2 game home stand on Tuesday finishing the February schedule hosting the first place Washington Capitals.
