PRESEASON GAME DAY PREVIEW: RANGERS VS DEVILS 9/24

Rangers host New Jersey looking to even up preseason record

New York Rangers (1-2-0) vs New Jersey Devils (0-2-1)
Madison Square Garden, NYC
TV: MSG+, NHLN-US

The Rangers look to get back to a .500 preseason record tonight against the win-less New Jersey Devils. The Rangers led by 2 goals from Lias Andersson in their preseason opener win against New Jersey last Monday 4-3 in Overtime will face their "Hudson River Rivals" tonight at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers are coming off an uneventful 6-2 loss in Bridgeport to the Islanders on Saturday which saw Ryan Spooner pick up his second preseason goal in as many games. With Alexandar Georgiev and Dustin Tokarski having started the game in Bridgeport tonight should see Henrik Lundqvist get the start with Marek Mazanec finishing the game somewhere near the halfway point of the game. Mazanaec another free agent pick up this off season, like Tokarski is battling for the Rangers backup position with Georgiev.

New Jersey has lost all three of their preseason match ups including the 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers, a 3-1 loss to Montreal in a split squad game and a 2-0 shutout loss to the Islanders.

No lineups have been released for either team but the Rangers once again after a tough scrimmage yesterday still stand at 44 players in camp.

Unless any demotions are made before game time tonight the following Rangers are still on their Training Camp Roster:

Forwards (26): Lias Andersson, Matt Beleskey, Pavel Buchnevich, Bobby Butler, Filip Chytil, Jesper Fast, Steven Fogarty, Gabriel Fontaine, Tim Gettinger, Ryan Gropp, Kevin Hayes, Peter Holland, Brett Howden, Chris Kreider, Vinni Lettieri, Michael Lindqvist, Cody McLeod, Drew Melanson, Ville Meskanen, Vladislav Namestnikov, Boo Nieves, Cole Schneider, Ryan Spooner, Jimmy Vesey, Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello
