1992: Adam Graves tied a single-period Rangers record by tallying three goals in the third period.
1992: Mark Messier tallies six points (two goals, four assists) in an 11-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The six points are the most Messier recorded in a single game as a Ranger.
1997: Three years after helping the New York Rangers to their first Stanley Cup since 1940, Mark Messier returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time after signing with the Vancouver Canucks during the offseason.
Messier cries on the bench during a video tribute, but he scores a breakaway goal and is named the game's First Star in Vancouver's 4-2 victory.
1998: The Rangers acquire Petr Nedved, Sean Pronger and Chris Tamer from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Alexei Kovalev, Harry York and future considerations.
