The New York Rangers announced Saturday they have traded their 2017 fourth round pick to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Nick Holden.
The 6' 4" 210 lb Holden,
29, skated in 82 games with Colorado last season, scoring 6 goals and
had 16 assists along with establishing career-highs in games played (82), assists
(16), average ice time (21:52), hits (217), and blocked shots (118) in
2015-16. Holden was earning 1.5M per year from Colorado and becomes a UFA on July 1st 2018. He has played in a total of 221 NHL games split between Colorado and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
