A New York Rangers Legend Passes at age of 84

We are saddened to hear of the passing of NY Rangers Alumni Louis Joesph "Leapin' Louie" Fontinato at the age of 84 on July 3rd. Fontinato who was signed by the Rangers as a free agent in 1950 played in 6 full season totalling 418 games for the Rangers until traded to Montreal for Doug Harvey on June 13, 1961. Fontinato was forced to retire from hockey two years later when he injured his neck while checking Vic Hadfield during a March 9, 1963, game between the Rangers and Canadiens.

Rest in Peace "Leapin' Louie."
