RANGERS SIGN PROSPECT ROBIN KOVACS TO ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT
The Rangers have signed prospect Robin Kovacs to a three-year entry level contract. Kovacs, 19, had 21 goals and 13 assists for AIK last season. Kovacs, 6-0 and 168lbs, is ranked 76th by The Hockey News and they write "speedy winger can hurt enemies on PP and PK" was the Rangers 62nd overall pick in 2015. Kovacs will have an NHL cap hit of $803,333.
Cap Situation
After the Rangers signings this week of J.T. Miller, Dylan McIlrath and Josh Jooris the Rangers now have just under 7.5M in cap space left to sign restricted free agents Kevin Hayes and Chris Kreider. This amount includes Tanner Glass ($1.4 million), Jooris ($600,000), Adam Clendening ($600,000) and Pavel Buchnevich ($925,000).
90th Anniversary Logo Revealed
The Rangers have also announced that they will have a 90th Anniversary patch on their jersey. The Rangers will celebrate their 90th Anniversary this season and will be using the logo below.
