NYR TODAY FRI 7/22: Notes, Rumors, Alumni Birthdays

The Rangers and Chris Kreider are reportedly in "ongoing negotiations" regarding a 4 or 5 year deal that would avoid arbitration the deal is thought to be somewhere between 4.5 and 4.75 million per year. Kreider who's arbitration hearing is today is said to be looking for somewhere close to 5.25 million.

By the Numbers: The Rangers have assigned #93 to newly acquired Mika  Zibanejad and #22 to Nick Holden.

In an article in The Hockey News the Rangers are still rumored to be in the hunt for St Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. St Louis is believed to be seeking a package of top draft picks and a young NHL level forward in exchange.
