RANGERS AT FLAMES GAME DAY PREVIEW 3/2

RANGERS ROLL INTO CALGARY WITH WIN UNDER THEIR BELTS


New York Rangers (28-30-6) vs Calgary Flames (32-24-9)
TONIGHT 9:00 PM, MSG2 , WEPN
Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary, Alberta, CA

The Western Canada Road Trip continues as the Rangers roll into Calgary after a 6-5 overtime win in Vancouver. The win was the Rangers first in their last eight and third point inthe span. Kevin Hayes led with 2 goals while newcomers, Ryan Spooner in his second game for New York added another 2 assists and  Vladislav Namestnikov picked up a goal and an assist in his Rangers debut added to the offense. Although surrendering five goals Henrik Lundqvist dazzled with 50 saves for the win.

Lundqvist will get the start tonight, the first of back to back games while Alexandar Georgiev will get the start in Edmonton tomorrow night. The rest of the lineup from Wednesday’s win should remain the same.

The PAcific Division 5th place Flames come into tonight’s contest on a 2 game skid losing to Colorado and Dallas and having only won 1 game in theri last five. Johnny Gaudreau leads Calgary in points with 73 and assists with 53, Sean Monahan leads the team in scoring with 29.

This is the second of two meetings between the Rangers and Flames. New York won the first contest at MSG 4-3 back on February 9 scoring two third period goals for the win, Kevin Hayes tallied a power play goal to open the scoring. Henrik Lundqvist picked up the win with 30 saves.
