RANGERS AT FLYERS POST GAME WRAP UP 3/22

RANGERS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT IN PHILLY 4-3

The Rangers were chasing the win all night in Philadelphia after being down 1-0 before the midway point of the first period on a goal by Thomas Konecny of the Flyers. Mika Zibanejad was able to tie the game of a beautiful feed from Jesper Fast after a nice between the legs move of his own bring it into the Flyers zone and wristing one past goaltender Alex Lyon.

The Rangers fell behind in the second period 2-1 on a goal by Voracek and then 3-1 on Konecny's 2nd of the game. Jesper Fast was able to bring the Rangers within one with close to 3 minutes remaining in the middle frame to take it to intermission down 3-2.

The Rangers fell father back just 8 seconds into the third period on a goal by Oscar Lindbolm to make it 4-2 in favor of the home team. But the Rangers again battled back with Jesper Fast's 2nd of the game to make it 4-3 just over a minute later.

Both Alexandar Georgiev and Alex Lyon made fantastic saves throughout the period and the game. The Rangers peppered Lyon but could not convert.

Although a loss on the books, the Rangers played hard and as the boxscore shows the game was pretty much even or in favor of the Rangers except for the one that mattered, the score.

Mika Zibanejad extended his scoring streak to 4 games and his points streak to 8. Jesper Fast and Neal Pionk both extender their points streak to 6 games while Chris Kreider extended his to 4 games.
