RANGERS VS BLUE JACKETS POST GAME WRAP UP 3/20

RANGERS COMEBACK BID FALLS SHORT 5-3

Close but no cigar as the Rangers battled back from a 2-0 deficit only to fall short on the losing end 5-3.

The Rangers special teams seemed to be the only part of their game as Kevin Hayes collected a shorthanded goal to bring the Rangers within 1 in the second period and Power Play goals by Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider also brought the Blueshirts with one goal of tying.

Playing catchup all night took it's toll and the Blue Jackets who had previously won their last 8 games straight showed why they have win streak.

The Rangers had a scare in the third when bot John Gilmour of the Rangers and Max Calvert of Columbus raced down into the New York end, lost their edges and both slid into Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist was flipped and landed on his shoulder but was able to resume duties after the hard fall.
