RANGERS VS HURRICANES GAME DAY NOTES 1/22

Major Winter Storm expected to impact Central North Carolina through Saturday.
Don Waddell, President of Gale Force Sports & Entertainment, today announced that tonight’s National Hockey League game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers will be played as scheduled. Both teams and the NHL officials for the contest are in Raleigh.

OFFICIAL: ‪NY Rangers have assigned Jayson Megna to Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.
Megna played in five games for the Rangers, with 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 PIM, 7 shots on goal, 5 hits, 1 blocked shot, 2 giveaways, 1 takeaway and an average of 12:51 per game.

Chris Kreider skated this morning and said that his neck is still "stiff and sore" from a collision he had with Radim Vrbata on Tuesday against the Canucks. He said that he is unsure about playing tonight against the Hurricanes.
Alain Vigneault said yesterday that the reason the Rangers brought in Daniel Paille was to add depth and to be a penalty killer.
Paille may make his Rangers debut vs Carolina due to Chris Kreider's neck injury. Paille did skate at this morning's optional skate.
