The wait is over..The New York Rangers resume the 2015-2016 Season in New Jersey vs the Devils tonight 7:00 PM.

Season series: Forward Lee Stempniak scored off a 2-on-1 rush with forward Adam Henrique 3:07 into overtime to help the New Jersey Devils to a 2-1 win at the New York Rangers on Oct. 18, 2015. Devils goaltender Cory Schneider made 26 saves and Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves.

Rangers team scope: Left wing Rick Nash, who has missed the past two games with a bone bruise in his left knee, did not practice Monday. Defenseman Ryan McDonagh, who represented the Metropolitan Division in the NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, took a maintenance day, according to NorthJersey.com. The Rangers have won four of their past six games and are second in the Metropolitan Division, three points ahead of the New York Islanders and four ahead of the Devils. Center Derick Brassard set a career-high with five points (two goals) in a 6-3 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 25.
Devils team scope: Left wing Michael Cammalleri was placed on injured reserve Monday because of an upper-body injury. Since the move is retroactive to Jan. 26, Cammalleri, who leads the Devils with 24 assists and 38 points, will not be in the lineup Tuesday. Defenseman John Moore, who missed the past two games because of a lower-body injury, returned to practice Monday, according to NorthJersey.com. The Devils recalled center Joseph Blandisi, left wing Reid Boucher and defenseman Seth Helgeson from Albany of the American Hockey League. New Jersey went 0-for-4 with one shot on the power play in a 2-0 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 27 to end its four-game winning streak. Schneider, who represented the Metropolitan Division in the NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, took a maintenance day Monday.

TODAY IN NYR HISTORY February 2
 1980 – Phil Esposito registered his 700th career NHL goal, becoming the second NHL player (at the time) to accomplish the feat (along with Gordie Howe). Esposito tallied two goals to help the Rangers defeat the Washington Capitals, 6-3.


1994 – A Rangers player recorded a hat trick for the second consecutive game, as Adam Graves tallied three goals and Mark Messier recorded an assist on all four of the Blueshirts’ goals in a 4-4 tie against the New York Islanders at MSG.


2002 – Brian Leetch skated in his final NHL All-Star Game. Leetch was an 11-time NHL All-Star and played in nine All-Star Games in his career (he missed two due to injury).

2010: The Rangers acquire Brandon Prust and Olli Jokinen from the Calgary Flames for Chris Higgins and Ales Kotalik.
