NEW YORK RANGERS GAME DAY

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS (26-29-8) at NEW YORK RANGERS (36-20-6)
TONIGHT 7:00 PM, MSG, NHLN-US

SEASON SERIES: The New York Rangers scored three goals in a 1:17 span of the third period for a 4-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 9 at Nationwide Arena in Alain Vigneault's 100th game as Rangers coach. Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves. Rangers rookie forward Oscar Lindberg scored twice the next night in a 5-2 win at Madison Square Garden.

RANGERS TEAM SCOPE: New York acquired center Eric Staal from the Carolina Hurricanes for second-round picks in 2016 and 2017 and forward prospect Aleksi Saarela, on Sunday. Staal, who has a goal and two assists in his past five games, will make his Rangers debut Monday. "All of his experiences are going to help us," general manager Jeff Gorton said. "Once he becomes a Ranger and gets on the ice with us he's going to be in a [Stanley Cup Playoff] spot as of [Monday], he's going to play hard and he's going to have a lot to play for." Gorton said defenseman Keith Yandle, who has a point in 12 of his past 17 games (two goals, 10 assists), will not be traded prior to the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. Monday. Forward Marek Hrivik was assigned to Hartford of the AHL. New York has allowed two or fewer goals in nine of its past 13 games.
