NY RANGERS VS DALLAS STARS POST GAME REVIEW


KLEIN'S LATE THIRD PERIOD GOAL LIFTS RANGERS OVER STARS

Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein scored the tie-breaking on a tip pass from Oscar Lindberg to the game winning goal versus the Dallas Stars in Saturday's Afternoon Cntest. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist put in spectacular 36 save game earning his 31st victory of the 2015-2016 season backstopping the Rangers in their second win over the Western Division leading Dallas stars this season. A power play goal by Chris Kreider in the second period opened the scoring before Dallas tied the game on a goal by Colton Sceviour. Rangers Captain Ryan McDonagh put the Rangers back in the lead 8:36 into the third period finishing the game with 2 points, earning an assist on Kreider's 2nd period goal. Less than a minute later Dallas thought it had tied the game again at 9:30, but the officials ruled that Jason Spezza's shot did not completely cross the goal line. The no-goal ruling was upheld after a video review. The Stars eventually tied the game at th 15:59 mark when  Valeri Nichushkin scored to knot the game at 2 until Klein's Game Winner with 2:53 left in the 3rd period.
Rangers defenseman Keith Yandle earned a team leading 31st asssit of the season while Jesper Fast, Derek Stepan, Oscar Lindberg, Viktor Stalberg and Derick Brassard all earned points with assists for the Rangers.
The Rangers return to action on Monday the 29th as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets helmed by former Rangers Head coach John Tortorella at Madison Square Garden, Puck drop at 7:00 PM.
