NYR TODAY WEDNESDAY 2/10

GAMEDAY!

The New York Rangers (30-18-5) at Pittsburgh Penguins (27-18-7) Tonight 8:00 PM, NBCSN
Season series: Goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 33 saves and the New York Rangers ended the Pittsburgh Penguins' seven-game winning streak with a 5-0 victory on Nov. 11, 2014. Four nights later presented a strange ending at Madison Square Garden when Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle's apparent shootout-winning goal was disallowed after a video review showed he hit the puck a second time on a rebound. Once each team returned from the dressing rooms, Penguins forward Brandon Sutter beat Lundqvist and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped forward Rick Nash for a 3-2 victory. Defenseman Kevin Klein's overtime goal gave the Rangers a 4-3 win on Dec. 8, and two goals from center Derek Stepan sparked them to a 5-2 win on Jan. 18.

Rangers team scope: Defenseman Ryan McDonagh (concussion) and Nash (bone bruise) won't play Wednesday, coach Alain Vigneault said. Though Nash is starting to walk without pain, he'll remain off the ice the next couple of days. "Any player thinks he can play through the pain," Vigneault told NorthJersey.com. "He was trying. It wasn't getting better. These bone bruises, you never know how they're going to react." The Rangers will play the same six defensemen from their 2-1 win Monday against the New Jersey Devils, which means Boyle, a left-hand shot, again shifts to the left side alongside Dylan McIlrath. New York has won three straight for the first time since winning nine in a row Oct. 25-Nov. 15. Forward J.T. Miller has scored in nine of his past 10 games as part of a line with Jesper Fast and Derick Brassard that has 10 goals and 23 points in the past seven games.
