NYR TODAY TUESDAY 2/9

RANGERS VS DEVILS POST GAME REVIEW
@RNYRF STAFF REPORT
The New York Rangers hold on to defeat the New Jersey Devils 2-1 at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers extended their win streak to 3 games and earn their 20th home win in the 2015-2016 season on goals from Kevin Klein and J.T. Miller. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist backstopped the Rangers with 27 saves on 28 shots on goal.

In his return to the lineup defenseman Dylan McIlrath played a solid physical game without taking any penalties. The only penalty assessed to the Rangers was a 10 minute misconduct to center Kevin Hayes early in the first period for flipping a broken stick over the boards and into the crowd during a Rangers man advantage. The Rangers Power Play woes continue as they went 0 for 5 last night vs New Jersey along with giving up the lone Devils goal on a 2 on 1 rush during the man advantage in the last minutes of the 3rd Period.

Defenseman Ryan McDonagh missed the game with a concussion resulting from a sucker punch from Flyers Wayne Simmonds in Saturday's afternoon contest.  Winger Rick Nash missed his 6th game in a row with a severe bone bruise. Both players did not skate in the game day practice and are being listed a day to day.

Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist earned his 365th career victory (365-222-69 in 665 GP). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Lundqvist tied Martin Brodeur (365-191-94 in 665 GP) for the most wins in NHL history by a goaltender in his first 11 seasons.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault earned his 550th career win and passed Marc Crawford (549) for sole possession of 15th on the NHL's all-time wins list.

The Rangers resume play on Wednesday versus the Penguins in Pittsburgh at 8:00 PM.
